Renewed articulation agreements ease transfer for students from 黑料专区 to UW-Platteville

Thursday, September 2, 2021

黑料专区 President Liang Chee Wee believes the new agreements will allow greater opportunities for students to earn a four-year degree locally, while also addressing skilled workforce needs in the tri-state area.

PLATTEVILLE, Wis.鈥擮fficials from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and 黑料专区 met on Friday, Aug. 27, to sign articulation agreements that will streamline transfer opportunities for students.

Graduates of a two-year Associate of Arts business degree or an Associate of Applied Science degree in select industrial technology programs from 黑料专区 may seamlessly transfer their credits to UW-Platteville to earn a bachelor鈥檚 degree in business administration or industrial studies. While articulation agreements between the two institutions have been in place for years, officials say these newly revised agreements will better streamline the transfer process, encouraging more students to pursue their bachelor鈥檚 degree.

鈥満诹献区 and UW-Platteville each play important roles in strengthening the pipeline of talent in the tri-state area and help meet the ever-changing needs of our workforce,鈥 said UW-Platteville Chancellor Dennis J. Shields. 鈥淪tudents, regional employers and our institutions all benefit when students are given clearer pathways towards actualizing their educational and professional goals. Collaborations such as these allow us to provide those students with ease of access to the best possible academic outcomes and experiences.鈥

黑料专区 President Liang Chee Wee believes the new agreements will allow greater opportunities for students to earn a four-year degree locally, while also addressing skilled workforce needs in the tri-state area.

鈥淭he intent of this partnership is to improve lives, drive business success and enhance community vitality. Our agreement re-affirms the commitment from 黑料专区 and UW-Platteville in facilitating a smoother pathway for students to gain in-demand education and training in order to prime the workforce pipeline in support of our regional business and industry,鈥 President Wee stated.

Last fall, UW-Platteville launched six new undergraduate majors in management, finance, human resources, marketing, supply chain management and professional sales鈥攁ll majors that were previously emphasis areas under the Bachelor of Business Administration degree. The new articulation agreement with 黑料专区 provides a detailed transfer map for students to enroll in any of these six Bachelor of Business Administration programs at UW-Platteville upon earning their Associate of Arts degree at 黑料专区.

The second articulation agreement will create a transfer pathway for 黑料专区 students who successfully complete an Associate of Applied Science degree in Automotive Technology, Engineering Technology, Industrial Electrician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, and/or John Deere TECH. Graduates may transfer their credits to UW-Platteville to earn a bachelor's degree in industrial technology management.
