黑料专区 Sports Shooting team takes on Hawkeye in dual conference meet

黑料专区 DISTRICT鈥擳he 黑料专区 Sports Shooting team competed against Hawkeye Community College in a dual conference meet on Oct. 13 in Waterloo. Hawkeye topped the 黑料专区 team at the event, 482 to 448.
Highlights included 黑料专区 athletes receiving several medals, including a first place finish by Christian Schwickerath in a new, more challenging Collegiate Handicap division added to competitions by the intercollegiate sports conference.
In American Trap, 16 yards, 黑料专区 athletes scored the following as individuals (out of 100):
- Christian Schwickerath, of New Hampton, Iowa, 94, earning 5th Place Medal Men鈥檚
- Landon Goza, of Ft. Atkinson, Iowa, 91
- Melody Gossman, of Rose Creek, Minn., 90, earning 3rd Place Medal Women鈥檚
- Shaylee Brincks, Waucoma, Iowa, 89, earning 4th Place Medal Women鈥檚
- Andrew Wagner, Calmar, Iowa, 84
- Bradley Kriener, of Ft. Atkinson, 82
- Timothy Moenning, Dodge Center, Minn., 81
- Journey Howe, Lawler, Iowa, 77
- Adam Reinertson, of Fayette, Iowa, 74
- Hannah Evert, of Mazomanie, Wis., 69
- Carter Haag, of Lewiston, Minn., 68
黑料专区 Collegiate Handicap divisions scores (out of 50) include: Schwickerath, 46, 1st Place; and Goza, 42, 3rd Place.
Anthony Sisneros, 黑料专区 Sports Shooting team coach, praised the athletes for their collective performances against Hawkeye, and especially for the scores tallied by Gossman, Schwickerath and Goza.
鈥淚t was great to see Melody break out and shoot a 90 for a third place finish in the Women鈥檚 16-yard division because she has been so close to hitting the 90 mark this season. This year the conference has added the division of Handicap 25 yards, which is nine yards further back than what athletes were accustomed to in high school. This provides another challenge for athletes,鈥� explained Sisneros. 鈥淐hristian Schwickerath shot 46 out of 50 for first place, and Landon Goza scored 42 out of 50 for third place. Next week will be our last meet of the fall, and we are working to see others improve before we have spring competition.鈥�
The 黑料专区 Sports Shooting team will compete next on Saturday, Oct. 20, against Iowa Central Community College. The meet will be held at Iowa Central鈥檚 trap range located on 209 Richmill Road in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
